Two Of Wands
The Two of Wands: Follow the Breadcrumbs
Weekly Tarot Reading for September 14–20, 2026
What happens when you know you want something different, but you're not quite ready, or quite sure, how to get there?
That's where we find ourselves this week.
For this week's collective Tarot reading, I pulled the Two of Wands.
And its message feels surprisingly simple:
Pay attention to what you're being pulled toward. Then take a step.
The Astrology of the Week
We're beginning this week in the early days of a new lunar cycle. The New Moon occurred on September 9/11, and the Moon is now waxing toward the First Quarter on September 18.
A waxing Moon is a beautiful metaphor for this week's Tarot message. Something has been initiated. An intention has been planted. Now we're beginning to build momentum around it.
The Sun remains in Virgo, bringing an emphasis on discernment, practical action, and the small details that help turn an idea into something tangible. Mercury is in Libra, while Venus is in Scorpio and Mars is in Cancer.
There is also some interesting tension around relationships and commitments this week, including Venus moving into a square with Pluto and Mercury opposing Saturn. These transits can invite us to look honestly at our relationships, agreements, expectations, and the structures we're building with other people.
Which brings us right back to the Two of Wands.
The Two of Wands
The Two of Wands is a card of vision, possibility, choice, and movement.
We've moved beyond simply having an idea.
There's something on the horizon now.
You can see the possibility of another way of living, working, creating, relating, or experiencing your life.
But seeing the possibility isn't the same thing as moving toward it.
The Two of Wands asks:
What do you actually want more of?
Not what you think you should want.
Not what looks impressive from the outside.
Not what everyone else seems to be doing.
What genuinely sparks something inside you?
Maybe it's more creativity.
Maybe it's travel.
Maybe it's community.
Maybe it's a different kind of work.
Maybe it's finally making space for the hobby you've been talking about for years.
Maybe it's collaboration.
Maybe it's simply having more moments in your life that feel expansive, interesting, and alive.
Whatever it is, this card asks you to start paying attention.
You Don't Have to Change Everything
One of my favorite things about the Two of Wands is that it doesn't necessarily demand a dramatic leap.
You don't have to quit your job.
You don't have to move across the country.
You don't have to completely reinvent yourself.
You can start smaller.
How can you energetically create movement toward the life you're envisioning?
If you want more creativity, make an hour for it.
If you want more connection, reach out to someone.
If you want to collaborate, send the email.
If you're curious about something, take the class.
If an idea keeps returning to you, investigate it.
Sometimes manifestation looks much less magical than we expect.
Sometimes it looks like taking the first practical step.
Follow the Breadcrumbs
This week, pay attention to the things that spark your curiosity.
That little idea that keeps coming back.
The person you suddenly think about.
The invitation that makes you pause.
The class, book, place, project, or possibility that catches your attention.
You don't have to know exactly where the breadcrumb trail ends.
You just have to be willing to follow it.
This is where intuition becomes action.
Your inner knowing says, "There's something here."
The Two of Wands says, "Okay. Let's see where it goes."
Don't Underestimate Connection
The Two of Wands can also speak beautifully to partnerships and collaboration.
This may be a particularly good week to nurture relationships with people who share your interests, values, or vision.
Ask yourself:
Who inspires me?
Who do I want to create with?
Where could collaboration create more movement?
What conversation have I been meaning to have?
Where could I be more willing to let other people into my vision?
Sometimes the next step toward our own dreams comes through another person.
Not because they are going to make it happen for us, but because connection creates circulation.
Ideas move.
Energy moves.
Opportunities move.
Possibility moves.
Your Tarot Practice for the Week
Take a few minutes this week to journal on these questions:
What do I wish I had more of in my life?
What am I curious about right now?
What is one small action I could take toward that desire?
Who might I connect with or collaborate with?
What breadcrumb am I being invited to follow?
Then choose one thing.
Not ten.
One.
Take the step.
The Message of the Two of Wands
You don't need to have the entire path figured out.
You don't need a five-year plan.
You don't need to know exactly how the story ends.
You simply need to listen closely enough to recognize what is calling you, and brave enough to take the next step toward it.
Envision it.
Follow the breadcrumbs.
Create movement.
And trust that your inner knowing can meet you there.
